About The Chapter
Established in 2020, the Consortium is a student-led organization that aims to — in collaboration with the US Civil Society Working Group on WPS (U.S. CSWG) — promote awareness of the implications of women and gender in security and foreign policy. We strive to ensure that policymakers around the globe are aware of the importance of gender issues and the urgent need to institutionalize an intersectional, feminist approach when solving critical issues surrounding peace and security.
Over the past two years, the GW Chapter of the Consortium has grown to include a community of over 200 Elliott School undergraduate/graduate students and faculty, practitioners/scholars in the field, and other GWU/DC students and contacts. This also includes a 13-person Leadership Team, roughly 25 active general members, a Publications Committee, and a Programming Committee.
We accept members on a rolling basis, and we encourage anyone to get involved! Sign up at the link below or reach out to wpselliott@gmail.com.
